I know I normally post these on Fridays, but it's MAY THE 4TH!  So you get some Rey fan art on a Wednesday instead.  I know, I know...cheeky.  There is a surprising amount of fan art dedicated to this character that's only really been around for less than six months.  She's made a huge impact on the franchise and I cannot wait to see where the story's gonna take her!  Do you think she's going to be a force for good, like Luke?  Maybe she'll be like Anakin, though...who knows?!  Ah, I love that we're in a new Star Wars age. What would Star Wars be without its droids, which are overflowing with personality?  It's pretty much a staple for any good story told within the universe, as we've been able to tell just based on the trailers for The Force Awakens .  This is it, kids!  I'm going to see the movie today and here's my last OMG-I'm-so-excited-can-you-believe-there's-a-new-film-that-just-came-out-and-I-get-to-see-it post!  Are you going to see the movie this weekend, too? Liars, smugglers and thieves, also known as: scoundrels.  I'm not gonna lie; these guys are my favorites-hands down.  If I could be any movie character ever, it would be Han Solo.  I mean, who can't get behind the idea of space pirates?  It's just...genius.  They are essentially bad guys that we love to root for because deep down, they're good people.  We all loved Firefly, right?  That there is why.  Well, that and Joss Whedon, but that's for another post. ;)  For now, here's hoping The Force Awakens broadens our smugglers' pool a bit! Continuing our month of Star Wars celebration, I give you: The Jedi!  Most of them come from The Rise of the Empire Era, but we've still got a few from the Rebellion Era (aside from Luke and Yoda, of course!), thanks to the Star Wars: Rebels show!  If that's not a thing you're watching, you really should.  It gives you much more insight to the ways of the Jedi than anything thus far has.  Ahem, anything canon , anyhow.  Who's been your favorite Jedi, whether Knight, Master or Padawan, to grace the screen? Whether they are straight-up Sith, Acolytes or just some Separatist jackasses, these are the bad guys of Star Wars.  The only people you won't be seeing are from The Force Awakens .  This is really because I don't know what kind of twist they're planning...So, I'll be doing some posts on those characters around the time it's released on DVD (Blu-ray... whatever !).  I'm just pumped for the film and so we're going to continue to celebrate the universe of Star Wars until it's release.  Yay! Mara Jade's first appearance in the Star Wars Universe was in a novel called " Heir to the Empire " that came out in 1991.  She started out as an "Emperor's Hand," which basically meant she ran around killing folk for Palpatine.  Later, Palpatine's all like "You should totes kill Luke and stuff."  So, she struggles with that for a bit, but ultimately decides to marry Luke instead.  Yay, redemption!  So, here's some excellent art honoring my favorite undercover bad/good girl of the Star Wars Universe.
