On the Telly: Dark Matter vs Killjoys

Image
It's the battle of Syfy's new spaceship shows!  Gaaahh!  Do you remember not being able to help comparing The Prestige to The Illusionist just because they were both about magicians and they were released the same year?  Well, this is like that only-SPACESHIP!  It's no secret that I love Sci-Fi in any general sense.  I eat that shit up.  So when there were not one, but TWO new shows that were going to take place in the far, future expanse of space, you can imagine my giddiness!  I went ahead and waited for both of them to (mostly) completely air before I devoured them whole-like.  Here's what I've discovered:

Fascinating Fanart: The Joker

Image
This week, we're going to focus on one of the most notorious fictional villains of all time (barring maybe Darth Vader, right?), The Joker.  With all of the DC movies coming soon, Suicide Squad has become, dare I say "more anticipated than the new Batman movie?"  It's because a good villain makes for a good hero and Leto's Joker promises to be just that.  In any case, Joker is on the brain lately.  This man has had so many different faces since his creation in 1940.  I think after looking at this post, it'll be clear which versions I prefer, but everyone has their favorite.  Which version of the Clown Prince of Crime did you like best? Fascinating Fanart: Death Note

Image
A friend recently recommended  Death Note  to me and I was unsure, as I didn't think I liked too much anime.  We got to talking and I realized I'd seen (and enjoyed) many more titles than I'd previously thought.  I gave it a try and you know what?   SO GOOD ...If you've never seen it, this fan art is going to look crazy-sauce to you.  I recommend it to anyone with a brain.  It's original and clever and guaranteed you've never seen anything like it. Fascinating Fanart: Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Image
If you've never had the opportunity to watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I feel for you.  You have missed out on some quality characters/storytelling and all-around good times!  It's continued on in comic form because the story is too good to stop!  So, let's celebrate the most fashion-forward monster hunter of all time, Buffy Summers, shall we? New Blog

Image
So, I'm checking out other artist's blogs all the time and I've come to the conclusion that my art should go on a separate blog.  Did I really just want two blogs?  Maybe...In any case, I've started one just for that, so if you want to see more of it, feel free to follow me there. Holly Scribbles! Things will continue to be about movies and comics and TV and such here, don't you worry your pretty little face about it.  I'm winking right now...so you know.

Fascinating Fanart: Ursula

Image
Ursula is an icon for strong women because she was not uber-thin and was still portrayed as sexy (aka that bod-ay).  She was guano, but that's completely beside the point.  She's inspired so much beautiful fan art that I had to cut some pieces to make it shorter.  I'd look for another Ursula post in the future.  :) Ursula by krhart

Actor Evolution: Lance Reddick

Image
◩ ◪ ⬔ ⬕ ◩ ◪ ⬔ ⬕ ◩ ◪ ⬔ ⬕ I had such a hard time tracking down some of these screencaps...this man is truly under-appreciated.  Lance Reddick is mostly a character actor, jumping in and out of roles that are small, but memorable, if not completely stamped into your brain.  The only thing I've seen that he did for any amount of time was Fringe and that shit was spectacular.  With any luck, we ain't seen nothin' yet. ◩ ◪ ⬔ ⬕ ◩ ◪ ⬔ ⬕ ◩ ◪ ⬔ ⬕
