Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling My rating: 4 of 5 stars “Why spiders? Why couldn't it be "follow the butterflies?” Why do fantasy authors have a habit of not only making spiders the big boss, but making them the giant big boss? I always have to turn away when they put them in films. Terrifying. So, I'm carrying on with the Stephen Fry audiobooks and they're still downright delightful. This is the book where you start to realize that there is so much more to the story than just a really unlucky kid going on adventures that involve magic and creatures. I feel like this volume also solidifies everyone's roles...at least, for now. View all my reviews

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling My rating: 5 of 5 stars “Don't play," said Hermione at once. "Say you're ill," said Ron. "Pretend to break your leg," Hermione suggested. "Really break your leg," said Ron. I listened to the audio version read by Stephen Fry this time around. He's wonderful. I know he would be, but it's worth saying anyway. It's amazing how these books stick with you and how you can be utterly enchanted by them no matter what age you were when you first read them. I mean, knowing everything that's going to happen in this book and beyond and still laughing out loud and sighing wistfully? It's a gift, and I'll take it. View all my reviews

Oh, man...I had so much fun putting this one together.  It's kind of ridiculous how much gender-swap art there is out there and I had to stop myself.  Do I just do one subject?  Hell, no!  Let's do *everything*!  So, I just grabbed what I'm a fan of and tried to find some genderbent female characters (for some reason people love turning dudes in to chicks waaaay more).  Anywho, enjoy! So, I've been thinking about Snape lately.  What?  That's right.  I think about fictional characters from books that are old enough to have movie franchises.  Anyway, I was going to do a post on just him, but then I remembered all the other cool art that comes with the HP universe and decided to go that route instead.  There'll be a Snape post once I find some more cool pieces.
