Movie Review: Stretch (2014)
This came up on a list of movies "you didn't watch in 2014, but should have." I was all like, "I'll bite." You know...and stuff. It's the kind of story that takes place all in one night, so you could call it fast-paced. A man came out to L.A. to be an actor and wound up driving a limo instead. He's unlucky in love, owes a bookie and he's kind of an asshole.
He may be a sloppy jerkface, but he's cleaned up a little. He doesn't do drugs, drink or gamble anymore. Because he's kind of already on the path to redemption, you want to see this total screw-up get the girl, pay his debt and at one point, just survive the night.
The humor is razor-sharp and the random actors you don't expect to pop up are just icing on the cake. On top of all this, you have an eccentric billionaire customer with crazy whims, undercover cops doing undercover shenanigans and a rival limo driver who's apparently scary as hell. Oh, and he sees dead people. Well, just one.
RATING:
I loved this shit. This is my kind of film and if you've seen this and can recommend anything like it, I'd be so very grateful. 10/10.
