Fascinating Fanart: Breaking Bad

Image
When this came out in 2008, no one would shut up about it.  "Dude-you have to watch Breaking Bad it's Sooooooo good."  If you're like me at all and you hear these words over and over and over, you tend to think 'You know what?  It can't be that good.  I won't be pressured!  I watch what the hell I want to watch because of freedom of choice and whatnot!!'  And you put it off out of pure stubbornness. Then, one day, you decide to try one episode just to find out what's up.  BAM!!  A week goes by and you're glued to the TV because you've just finished season two but, damn!  You have to do things like work and live and such.  If it hasn't happened to you yet, it's only a matter of time. Fascinating Fanart: The Labyrinth

Image
I meant to do something else this week, but I just ended up in this hole of Labyrinth fanart.  Believe it or not, this isn't the first time.  I decided to roll with it and here we are.  I hope you enjoy these amazing artists' appreciation for this timeless (yeah, well...kind of) masochistic romance.  I sure the hell do. Fascinating Fanart: Deadpool!

Image
For whatever reason, Deadpool has fans across all the demographics.  The art below will back me up on that.  Here's a little backstory on Wade Wilson:  He was originally created as a spoof of the DC character Deathstroke   (aka Slade Wilson-eh...eh?).  Although his trademark smart mouth didn't show up until a little after his creation, he quickly evolved into something more than a parody and gained a ton of fans in the process.  I hope his movie is genius and we get 12 more.  Chimichangas, bitches! --Overhanging-- by wyv1

Art Admiration: Mermaids Part I

Image
Mermaids.  Women with fish tails.  We've represented them in art as long as there's been art.  It's fascinating to think about why we're so fascinated by them.  Are they possible?  Usually you are firmly 'yes' or 'no' in response to that question.  Well, I believe that anything's possible.  Maybe they died out like the Dodo birds.  Maybe we just made them up to explain why people didn't come back from sea.  Maybe they're aliens from another planet and they totally live underwater.  In any case, we love to draw them, so check out some of the really astonishing art I've come across depicting these strange ethereal creatures: As I Was Drowning by Heather Theurer

Fascinating Fanart: Zoolander

Image
Zoolander 2...I can't believe they finally did it.  Since it's still about a week out, I thought we'd commemorate our favorite ridiculously good-looking male models!  There's a movie somewhere that says inviting a girl over to watch Zoolander is pretty much a sure thing.  I could totally see that.  Shame I couldn't find a David Duchovny one.  I tried, y'all.  I really did. Actor Evolution: Mae Whitman

◐ ◑ ◒ ◓ ◐ ◑ ◒ ◓ ◐ ◑ ◒ ◓ Mae's one of those people that you've seen and probably appreciated without ever knowing who she actually was.  This chick is all over the place and since her role in Scott Pilgrim, she's taken on a ton of live-action comedy.  I'm always delighted when she randomly pops up in something I'm watching or I see her name in the credits.  Maybe you are, too? ◐ ◑ ◒ ◓ ◐ ◑ ◒ ◓ ◐ ◑ ◒ ◓
